Community Advisory Notice - Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Still in Place
The boil water advisory remains in place until two consecutive clean test results are returned. A test was submitted today, and another will take place tomorrow.
Boil water advisories exist to protect public health and ensure no one gets sick.
Flush Household Lines
Run your cold water taps only for 1 to 2 minutes until the water runs completely clear to remove air and sediment. Do not run hot water taps.
Water Conservation
All residents on the public water supply must continue to restrict non-essential water use (such as washing vehicles, watering lawns, or filling pools) to allow the water tower to fully recover.
Water Use
Any water intended for consumption or oral hygiene must be brought to a rolling boil for at least one full minute. Allow the water to cool before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice cubes, brushing teeth, soaking dentures, or preparing juice and infant formula.
Tap water remains safe for hand washing, washing dishes, and laundry. It is also safe for adult bathing and showering, provided no water is swallowed.
Do not bathe infants or toddlers in tap water due to the risk of accidental swallowing. Sponge baths are recommended for the duration of this advisory.
If you or anyone you know experiences symptoms such as diarrhea or stomach pains, seek medical care immediately.
Additional Support
Water is available for Pick-Up at Sipekne’katik Community Centre. Please only take what you need. Seniors and Elders who require support for water needs are encouraged to contact Annie Knockwood at 902-956-0456.
