Preliminary list of nominees for the upcoming Sipekne’katik Election

Following the Nomination Meeting held on September 21, 2026, the preliminary list of nominees for the upcoming Sipekne’katik Election (November 2, 2026) is now available!

Please review the following important notes regarding the list and next steps:

Preliminary List: The names shown are not the finalized ballot list.

Deadline to Accept or Decline: Nominees have until Saturday, September 26, 2026, to officially accept or decline their nomination. If a nominee declines by this date, their name will not appear on the ballot.

Declining a Nomination: Nominees wishing to decline must contact the Electoral Officer directly and complete the official withdrawal form. The Electoral Officer must speak directly with the nominee to verify the nomination; if they cannot speak with the candidate, the name will not appear on the ballot.

Final List: Ballots have not been finalized yet. The official, finalized list of candidates running for Chief and Council will be shared on Monday.
