HALLOWEEN SAFETY GUIDE
A Safety Message from Sipekne’katik Administration & Sipekne’katik RCMP
Halloween is almost here! To help keep our community's trick-or-treaters, families, and drivers safe this evening, please review these essential safety tips:
For Trick-or-Treaters & Families:
Be Seen, Be Safe: Stick to well-lit areas and houses. Wear bright, reflective costumes or carry a flashlight so drivers can spot you easily.
Stick Together: Walk in groups and stay together.
Watch the Roads: Watch for traffic and vehicles backing out of driveways.
Paws Off: Be cautious around unfamiliar pets, as costumes and noises can startle animals.
For Drivers & Commuters:
Slow Down: Drive with extra caution and watch closely for children crossing between parked cars or streets.
Drive Sober: Never drive impaired or wear costumes that obstruct your view or movement.
Avoid Busy Zones: Try to avoid driving through high-foot-traffic areas during peak trick-or-treating hours.
Before Eating Treats:
Inspect All Candy: Check wrappers for any signs of tampering before letting kids eat.
Check Allergies & Hazards: Remove small hard candies or choking hazards for younger children and check for allergen labels.
Emergency & Non-Emergency Contact: If you see suspicious activity or require non-emergency assistance tonight, please contact our local detachment:
Sipekne’katik RCMP: (902) 758-3388
Emergencies: Call 911
Have a fun, spooktacular, and safe Halloween!
