Sipekne’katik Family Well Being Program and Sipekne’katik Communications present the Colour & Creativity Initiative

Sipekne’katik Family Well Being Program and Sipekene’katik Communications present the Colour & Creativity Initiative

An initiative to support and provide artistic inspiration for the youth of Sipekne’katik, and spark the next generation of Indigenous artists.

This initiative will help provide art supplies for Sipekne’katik youth ages 18 and under. Here is how it works:

- Find a copy of Sipekne’katik Spotlight monthly newsletter. They will arrive in the Indian Brook community mailboxes each month.

They are also available for pick up at Sipekne’katik Band Office, and Sipekne’katik Administrative building.

- For those who are not located within the community, the Sipekne’katik Spotlight can be downloaded by visiting https://www.sipeknekatik.ca/media-centre

- Each month, on the last page of the newsletter, you will find a colouring sheet or drawing prompt.

- The youth will complete their colouring sheet or drawing prompt, and then submit their completed sheet.

- These sheets can be submitted by dropping them off at Sipekne’katik Band Office, or by sending a photo/scan of the completed sheet to communications@sipekne’katik.ca

- At the end of each month, we will randomly draw one winner for each age category to win an art supply bundle!

- If the winner is located outside of the community and unable to pick up their prizes they will be mailed.

- Please be sure to complete the information section (Name, Age, Phone Number) located on the Colouring Sheet so that you can be contacted if you win!

In November/December, the art will be digitized and used to create Calendars for community members, as well as pole banner flags to be placed around the community so that we can all enjoy the colour, creativity, and joy created by the youth’s art.

The prize bundles for each age category can be viewed on the attached poster. Questions can be directed to communications@sipeknekatik.ca.
